Tribalism, "Accountability" Culture, & The Man In The Mirror

Has America drifted away from the enlightenment virtues that have formed the pillars that strive to keep our culture moral and civil, or have we transcended to a culture that holds each other accountable in the highest virtuous sense? Does and should tribalism dictate our way of life?
