Video game escapism and our Stardew Valley addiction | FEAT. Baewolf

Escapism refers to the act of withdrawing from reality or everyday life by engaging in activities or hobbies that allow one to escape mentally or physically. This can include activities like watching movies or TV, playing sports, reading a book, or in Baewolf and Wolf's case, video games... especially Stardew Valley.

Stardew Valley is a farming simulation RPG that was created by American Indie game designer Eric Barone, under the alias of ConcernedApe and originally titled Sprout Valley. It's a charmingly creative, and very addictive game that challenges the player to restore their farm to its former glory, while also building relationships with other residents of the valley. As much as we enjoy the game, and we do, our engagement with Stardew Valley has us questioning the impacts that escaping into gaming can have on one's life; both positive and negative.

Join the Wolf, Bull, and Baewolf in episode 82 as they discuss one of their favorite games, Stardew Valley, and the effects that escapism, especially in relation to video games, can have on one's life. We hope you enjoy the conversation and that it provides you with some food for thought when it comes to your favorite games and the impact that video games have on all our lives.
